Pretty funny but with Coastal Carolina, Liberty and Stony Brook all making noise about leaving the Big South behind, I hope someone is coming up with a plan for Gardner-Webb - maybe a jump to the CAA to take ODU's spot? I would love to jump to the Southern Conference but I don't know that we would be perceived as a great fit there - unless we're planning an upgrade to our football stadium. A lot of great things have happened at Gardner-Webb in the 4 years I have been associated with the school. I would hate to see all of that hard work go away when the Big South is no longer playing football and that certainly seems the way this conference is heading.

Go Runnin' Bulldogs!

We already have the wrestling team in the SOCON. Hopefully we can use that as some sort of inroad when Appy and GSU bolt from the SOCON. The CAA would be nice, but a geographic nightmare.

According to Lenn Robins in the New York Post, a number of the remaining football members of the CAA are considering forming a new conference.

The league would consist of, “programs poised to upgrade from FCS to FBS status,” according to Robbins. The move is being seriously discussed according to his sources, but could be expedited if the CAA continues to lose members to other conferences.
------------------------------------------

SUCKON only wants Coastal Carolina (replacement for Georgia Southern). Wrestling is too gay for me, and if GWU dropped it I would not care - use the wrestling cost for football scholarships, stadium upgrades, hire higher paid level head football coach next time.
